Our Committees:  put the mission statements in that Board agreed to

Communications:  This dynamic team meets monthly to ensure all RWF communications are consistent across all digital and print platforms as well as social media.  Whether you have website, newsletter, photography, writing, editing, PR, social media experience or not, we welcome all enthusiastic members.

Events:  The Roanoke Womens’ Foundation has two main events a year as well as an occasional special event, such as an out of town speaker.  Our events committee focuses on our two main events per year. Our first event, is the Awards Luncheon, when the large checks are handed out.  This event tends to draw our largest crowd of the year and requires many months of planning and execution.  If you enjoy monthly meetings to plan this exceptional event, as well as have a knack for detail, menus, flower arrangements and working with other committees to make it all together, this committee is for you!  Our second event is usually in May, and is also well attended.

Grants:  Our Grants committee by many accounts is the heart of what we do.  Our dedicated Grants committee members, work together to review and grade incoming applications.  They do site visits and prepare in depth reports and recommendations.  No previous experience necessary.  Our wonderful Grants chairwomen do an amazing job training all incoming Grants committee members on all aspects of this dynamic committee!

Education Committee: Our education committee has brought in speakers both at the local level, as well as national level speakers.  We have shared books on philanthropy and other relevant topics to RWF with our members.  We have hosted roundtable discussions as well as brought in panels of experts in fields relevant to the heart of RWF.

Membership:  One of the most engaged with the community, this committee works together in creating fun events to attract new members as well as retain members with “mix and mingle”, one on one coffees, and other fund membership events.  The membership committee works together to grow our membership.  We are rapidly approaching 200 members, and we are excited!  The membership committee can be a great way to learn more about the inner workings of RWF without prior knowledge of how things work.

Finance:  We welcome any accounting and prior treasurer experience you may have.  Consider sharing this special gift with RWF by joining the finance committee!
