GOAL: To inspire and mobilize women about the power of collective, and diverse engagement in building a strong giving community in the Roanoke Valley.

INTENDED RESULT: Creation of giving networks of women working together to strengthen community integration, equality, and wellness.

The Roanoke Women’s Foundation and the Carilion Foundation, with the generous support of Davenport and Company is hosting an event featuring Teresa C. Younger on March 20, 2019 at the Jefferson Center. Teresa is the president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women, the first national fund dedicated to empowering all women. This event celebrates the advancement and power of women using their resources and strengths to have a greater impact on our community and the world.

Teresa Younger has been on the front lines of some of the most important battles for women’s health, safety, and economic security. She is a tireless advocate and well-respected leader with a proven track record of nonprofit management and fundraising. Teresa has a rich history of national leadership that empowers women and believes that women have the answers to positively change communities. In her time with us she will share her insights into how we can mobilize the power of women’s collective giving to continue growing our community so that it works for everyone.

We are excited to host this event. It will be, for all of us, a catalyst to come together, ignite our talents, own our strengths, share our resources, and polish our skills to positively impact the Roanoke Valley.

IGNITE CHANGE will also feature a collaborative performance presented by students from Jefferson Center’s Music Lab Rock and Gospel Bands, Roanoke Children’s Theatre and Girls Rock.

There is NO CHARGE for this event. Please save the date, March 20, 2019 at 7:30, and bring the women and girls who inspire you!
